Tools, Customize Compound Symbols

Purpose

Use Edit Compound Symbols to change the symbols or symbol templates appearing in the Compound Symbols Window. You can add or remove symbols, edit existing symbols or change the order of symbols.

Steps

  1. Choose Customize Compound Symbols from the Tools menu.
  2. To add a symbol,
    click a button in the Compound Symbols panel to display a page of symbols and choose an unused symbol position.
    Type a User Hint that appears when the mouse cursor is moving over the symbol in the Compound Symbols Window.
    In the Current Symbol panel, choose a symbol template from the drop-down list. Choose New to add a new symbol to the drop-down list.

    3. To change a symbol,
    click a button in the Compound Symbols panel to display a page of symbols, and choose a symbol.

    Change the symbol's position on the symbol page.

    Change the User Hint that appears when the mouse cursor is moving over the symbol in the Compound Symbols Window.
    or
    In the Current Symbol panel, choose another symbol template from the drop-down list. Choose New to add a new symbol to the drop-down list or choose Edit to modify a symbol template in the drop-down list.

    To remove a symbol,
    click a button in the Compound Symbols panel to display a page of a symbol, then choose Clear to remove the selected symbol.

  3. Repeat the previous actions as necessary.

  4. Choose Close.
