Moving through a Document

The most simple way to navigate through your EW Notator document is using the mouse. Simply click on a box, a cell or a symbol to move the input focus. If the item you want to focus is not visible on the screen, first click on the scroll bars at the right or bottom window side to move it into view.

Using the keyboard is another efficient method to move the input focus once you learn some basic keystrokes:

Arrow Keys:

Move the cursor through symbols, cells and staffs in all four directions.

Home:

Moves the cursor to the first column of a staff.

End:

Moves the cursor to the last column of a staff.

Tab:

Moves the cursor to the next column.

Shift+Tab:

Moves the cursor to the previous column.

PgUp:

Moves to the previous staff.

PgDown:

Moves to the next staff.

Ctrl+Home:

Moves to the first column of the document.

Ctrl+End:

Moves to the last column of the document.

Holding the Shift key down while using these keys (except Tab) will select cells.

Furthermore you can use the Go To and Search commands to move quickly to another location in the document. Use Select Box to move focus to a box.
