Use Horizontal Brace to add a horizontal brace, which encloses the entire cell contents, to a cell. Optionally the brace may extend to the following cells up to the end of the current staff.
Note: Extending a brace actually extends the current cell to the right, which allows you to enter symbols into the extension area of the current cell. Symbols in the extension area align with the brace, as opposed to symbols in the cells covered by the extension area.
Steps
To add or change a horizontal brace,
In the Bows and Braces dialog, choose the Horizontal Brace
tab.
Move to a cell you want to add a horizontal brace to.
or
Move to a cell containing a horizontal brace.
Choose to align the brace to the top or bottom margins of
the cell or cell’s subrow.
Choose a subrow to place the brace in. This option is only
available when the current cell is horizontally split.
Choose how many cells to the right to extend the brace.
If the brace extends beyond the current cell you may choose
one of the Length options:
Long: The brace will extend from the left margin of the current cell to
the right margin of the last cell.
Middle: The brace will extend from the middle of the current cell to the middle
of the last cell.
Short: The brace will extend from the right margin of the current cell to
the left margin of the last cell.
Choose Add Brace.

Choose Change Brace if you are editing an existing brace.
To delete a horizontal brace,
In the Bows and Braces dialog, choose the Horizontal Brace
tab.
