Use Simple Text to switch the keyboard's text type mode on or off. When turned on, typing inserts regular text characters into cells, cell boxes, headers or footers. When turned off, the keyboard inserts simple symbols that you find in the Simple Symbols Window. This is useful when typing symbols found on the keyboard like numbers, =, +, -, ., f, K, L, M, m, R, S, W.
Note: Text and EW Symbols behave differently although certain characters may look the same. EW Symbols are suited for placing in compound symbols, which are often built vertically, while Text is designed to be written on a horizontal line. In addition you can apply separate scaling factors for width and height to EW Symbols.
You are in text typing mode when the Simple Text icon is pressed down.
