Format Bar

Purpose

The Format Bar is a pane on the right hand screen edge that enables you to change appearance, size other properties of symbols, text, cells, columns, staffs, pages and boxes.

Alternatively, the content of the Format Bar may also be displayed as a floating properties windows.

Steps

To work with the Format Bar,

1. Choose the Toggle Format Bar button from the toolbar, in case the Format Bar is hidden.
2. Choose one of the categories displayed in the Format Bar:

• Symbols
• Text
• Cells
• Bows & Braces
• Staff
• Limbs
• Page

To display an open property window in the Format Bar,

• double-click the title bar of the property window.

To display an open page in the Format Bar as a floating window,

• drag the format bar with its drag handle at the top to the center of the screen.
