Edit Symbol Templates

Tools, Customize Compound Symbols, New or Edit

Purpose

Use Edit Symbol Templates to create new, or modify existing, templates of compound symbols.

Steps

1. To create a new symbol template,
   choose New in the Edit Compound Symbols dialog.

   To modify an existing symbol template,
   Select a symbol from the drop-down list in the Edit Compound Symbols dialog and choose Edit.

2. If you are creating a new template, type a name.

3. Create or modify one or a series of symbols. You can use the Simple Symbols Window, the Symbol Properties, Build Symbol and Symbol Script commands, which are accessible through the buttons on the top of the edit window.

4. Select a bitmap that will appear in the Compound Symbols Window to represent your symbol. You can load a bitmap from a bitmap file or paste it from the clipboard. You can create a bitmap with any standard windows graphics application (such as Paint).
   Note: The optimum size for the template bitmap is 26x26 pixels.

5. Choose OK.
